EnglishBot
A management system for an English teacher: students, schedule, lessons, homework and payments in one place, with separate cabinets for students and parents.
An English teacher came to me with a clear request: she needed a management system. Students, schedules, vocabulary quizzes and payments lived inside a Telegram bot, and the work had outgrown the chat.
Everything had to be in one place: who is studying, when the next lesson is, what homework is set, and who has paid what. Students and parents needed to see their own part, Telegram had to stay the familiar way in, and no data from the old bot could be lost.
The solution
I designed and built a web platform with three cabinets: one for the teacher, one for students and one for parents. Login works through Telegram with no passwords, so nothing got harder for anyone, while all the record-keeping moved into a clear interface on desktop and mobile. I migrated the data from the old bot and built the platform to support more than one teacher.
- Teacher cabinet: a dashboard with an overview of the work, student management and reports.
- Schedule and lessons: a weekly schedule with recurring lessons and a log of lessons taught.
- Homework: set and reviewed inside the cabinet, with no files sent back and forth in chat.
- Vocabulary library and quizzes: a personal dictionary for each student and interactive vocabulary quizzes with ranks.
- Payments: payments per student, in the same place as lessons, with reports.
- Student and parent cabinet: schedule, lessons, personal dictionary, homework and quizzes. Parent accounts are read-only.
- Telegram login and reminders: no passwords, automated reminders and Google Sheets sync.
- A solid foundation: a multi-teacher data model, migration of real data from the old bot, a custom design system across 27+ responsive screens, deployed on a VPS.
The platform is live, and the teacher runs all her work with students through it. Record-keeping that used to be scattered across a chat is now in one place, and students and parents see their own part. The client is happy with the result: the system saves her both time and money.
